Frequently asked

Where do sessions take place?
Anywhere around the Phoenix metro: the desert trails and washes I love, a meaningful place of your own, or your home with my portable studio. I’ll suggest locations that suit the look you’re dreaming of.
What should we wear?
Once you book, I’ll send a styling guide with palettes that look beautiful against the desert. Soft, textured fabrics and coordinating (not matching) colours photograph wonderfully, and I’m always happy to review outfits with you.
When is the best time of day?
Most sessions are scheduled in the hour before sunset, when the light is warm and flattering. In the summer we can shoot at sunrise instead, which keeps everyone comfortable.
We have young children. Will that be okay?
Absolutely. I keep sessions playful and unhurried, build in breaks, and never expect little ones to sit perfectly still. Some of the best portraits happen in between the posed ones.
I feel awkward in front of the camera. Can you help?
Nearly everyone says that at first. I guide you through every pose and expression, and we’ll laugh a lot along the way. By the end you’ll forget the camera is there.
How long until we see our photos?
Your finished gallery is typically delivered within two to three weeks of your session.
How will we receive our gallery?
Every client has their own account. Your portraits arrive in a private, password-protected online gallery where you can view, favourite and download them in full resolution.
Do you offer prints and albums?
Fine-art prints, heirloom albums and wall pieces are coming soon. In the meantime, your high-resolution downloads are ready for printing anywhere you like.
